Another quick look today... observations so far:

general comment: What are the actual improvements over the old GUI?

Pros:

like the scroll up/down feature - can get to other page without losing current blip, but lost the previewed & then new blip.... would not jump to it. A possible bug?

Cons:
no right-click options for station, playlist, reblip, props, etc. I open multiple blip pages in multiple tabs.
I don't want to see 1 min ago or 2 min ago for a blip time, need to know exactly when so I can find it to listen to.
Seems the scroll doesn't scroll at all...
Find the GUI messy... can't find anything anymore - before & after pics will follow
Although the scrolling is neat, I miss being able to skip to a certain page number. Sometimes I like to see what I blipped a long time ago, and with this slow scrolling, that is not really possible anymore.
also noticed another possible bug... blip that I paused to blip another remains paused after 2nd song finished. No blip is highlighted "yellow"
Reblip, props, add to playlist and bookmark buttons must be visible in the blips.! Now we need 1 more click to do the action!
Other bad thing for me (GR8FL already wrote it): no right-click options for station, playlist, reblip, props, etc.
@justin I agree completely! I hope they find a way to rectify this.

+++Pros+++
+New layout is prettier. Particularly like the new scrolling arrows (indicating it's thinking) and the new settings drop-down menu. Avatars inside the box looks cleaner too.
+Scrolling does allow you to listen several pages back without opening a new tab. However, the lost functionality of being able to go to, say, page 172 is simply not worth this.
+Ad/video box is at the top, which means if I have Blip in a separate reduced-size window while I'm doing something else, I can have the video, search box, playing tune and scrolling arrows all showing in a very small space.
+When you've scrolled down a bit, the "x new" button takes you back to the start. Smart.
+My favorite change is the wording of "public/home/profile" changed to "all djs/fave djs/me." This is more personal and much clearer. You don't have to have used the site before to know what you'll find there.

---Cons---
-I miss the big avatar you can see if you click on someone's page. Some avatars (like GR8FL's, above) are very interesting but the tiny detail doesn't give you enough of a view. Instead they make our username bigger? Impractical. They could easily rectify this by moving the pic to the right. Put the props/listeners/credits at the left (or remove them, since they're already at the top) and move the font down a point. This would be plenty of room for the former large-sized avatar.
-Why the drop down box to RB/prop/etc? That adds an extra click. As pretty as the box is, it takes up more time for no apparent reason. It's not like there isn't plenty of room on the song playing for these tiny buttons.
-As @Justin said, not being able to click back to a particular page is a huge loss. I sometimes describe blip as an online musical journal. If I can't go back to a particular page on a particular date, it loses that functionality entirely. That would be sad.

Overall, the new design is an improvement in a lot of tiny ways and a step down in a few major ways. My 2 cents! I'm sure I'll be back later with an excuse to throw two more down. ;)
Oops! Didn't see that you'd mentioned this. So yeah, I agree. Interesting point on the right-click. Hadn't noticed that.

I don't like the Scrolling (Arrows) for Blip Pages. Please restore the actual Page Numbers. This is a Feature I hate about Twitter.
Perhaps someone (Paul?) should let the developers know about the forum here so they can see our comments here, since this seems to be the place where some of the "heavy duty" blippers hang out. Just a thought.
