Hi,

I apolagise if this as been answered already but I can't seem to find anything about it? How do I upload songs to Blip from good old England because I have seen a video on YouTube and it seems to be different in the States? It does mention links from other streaming sites but I don't know many or how to add them anyway?

Thanks in advance,

Frank AKA bluebrummie :-)

Go to your Blip Profile.
Click Settings.
Click Music.
Paste URL of Hosted Song.

Here's BlipFM's Official take on it:

How do I get my music to show up in the search results?

In a perfect world we would have every song from every band ever, and we’re working on that, but for now there’s a chance that your music isn’t in our database. If you have music that you would like to make available for others to blip, you can save URLs to music otherwise not hosted. First, create an account (or log in if you already have one), then click the “Settings” link in the top right corner and click “Music” (link: http://blip.fm/settings/music). From there you can enter in as many urls to songs as you would like and we’ll save them for you and they will be accessible from our search. If you are an artist or label and would like us to host your content (e.g., because your content isn’t hosted anywhere else), you can contact us at artists@blip.fm, providing your name and full contact information, as well as a list of the content you represent; requests will be considered on a case by case basis. NOTE: It’s a good idea to make sure the ID3 tags are in order, we plan to use them quite a bit.

I have a URL for my song, can I blip it without saving the URL to your servers?

Yep, just type the URL (starting with ‘http://’ or ‘https://’) into the search bar and hit “SEARCH”. We automatically grab the ID3 tags (if they’re available) so make sure the file is properly tagged.

Fileden.com seems to be quite popular. There are tons of others. Let us know in the comments, which ones you like. AND PLEASE OBEY COPYRIGHT LAW.

So just to be clear, there are websites, like Fileden.com, where you can upload music from perhaps your iTunes library (as long as it's not an iTunes Store purchase, probably) and then upload them from that site to Blip.

Is that how one does it?
Still a noob w/technology & music,

There is a very cool site/prog called DropBox that gives 2GB free storage space and puts a folder on your desktop where you can drag and drop mp3s and it will automatically sync them to your onsite storage and give you a hotlink that you can paste into the BLIP.fm searchbox and play your song. Here is a link to it:

Okay, now I did this but my link's not searchable (yet). Also, is there a way to add a tag or something so you know it's an upload from someone? Can I do this at the file hosting site, I wonder.
