I often add a song to my Blip Playlist and it either doesn't show up, or takes 3-5 clicks to get it to acknowledge it went through. Then, I need to use my Browser's Search to Find it.

Please suggest several features (ala iTunes) that would make BlipFM and it's Built-In Playlist Rock.

Actually, why not a BlipFM Desktop Application that mimics iTunes or SongBird ? Jeff Yasuda, are u listening ?

I look forward to when the autoplay goes to the next page after it reaches song #30 at the bottom of the webpage. For now, it just starts over from the first song.
Also, if BlipFM had more features, like grouping playlists as in iTunes, then it would be great for parties. Another suggestion is a smoother transition between songs (like pre-loading your next Blip) while DJing in front of a Live Audience (such as a house party).

We can only suggest, wait, and hope.

I've installed Blipster although I don't use that as much as the site, as the features I like to use are cut down a bit and I've always got my browser open anyway.

While it is great to have the songs play on line, I am inclined to agree with the desktop client approach, as you suggested. Alternatively though, I really think that Blip FM should do something about the bandwidth, it takes longer often to play a music file than it would to play a video file on YouTube, at the same time!

But of course this is where we are at the mercy of a peer to peer control of 'shared' content, so there are some additional, long term issues with third party servers and file size. Thankfully it is limited to MP3, so we are not faced with 20-30 MB AIFF or Wav files!

Perhaps it may be worth doing a deal with Last FM, Pandora or similar, where you could possibly achieve the sort of 'radio sampling' we are all looking for. Amazon need to be involved to, because if the service is more efficient then this is bound to improve sales for them.

Possibly
ability to create multiple playlists
search function
duplicate check

Multiple Playlists and/or filters for friends. Blipping to a group of friends would be nice as well, something that is to their attention etc instead of just another tossed into the mix etc.

OPTION TO TURN OFF DAMN VIDEOS!!!! That is, not view any videos in any playlist if you don't want videos.

yes I am shouting. It's just disappointing after promoting blip to friends to find it inundated with mainstream crap that gets featured on youtube.

Also, after getting rid of the videos, an option to BAN certain songs from ever appearing again on your playlists (your DJ lists) so that you don't have to listen to songs you don't like.

With close to 500 pages in my playlist (mix), and musical tastes that race all over the map, I'm having difficulty tracking my way back to specific songs and artists.

Is there a way to search my playlist to zero in on a specific musician or band? When I use Google's "in site" search, I end up getting results from ALL Blip.fm users.

I would like a way to back up my playlist. I have close to 500 pages of "programming," and I've invested a lot of thought and energy into creating these mixes. Right now, I've been slowly dragging these pages, one by one, into Scrapbook (a Firefox add-on that caches - archives - web pages).

There has to be a better way!

In fact, I'd like to be able to back my playlist up to Excel - or a database of some kind - so that I can retrieve information easily, and sort/filter/analyze the tracks.

I agree, Patty. I'm especially interested in "multiple playlists" and "search function." Having a mass of tracks over 500 pages - with no way to readily access and use this information - is a growing problem!

Paul, I also wish that autoplay would keep going until a user intervened to stop it. This would be GREAT!

Also, I'd like a way to go back and sort the amorphous mass of blips I've accumulated. Right now, I have carefully-selected playlists of 10 or 15 tracks, interrupted by reblips of friends' tracks so I can "talk" to them or "reply" to something; and this makes any "mix" I've created pretty much unlistenable.

I mean, who wants 5 tracks of mellow jazz saxophone, interrupted by Iggy Pop...only to move on to Sigur Ros, Jimi Hendrix, and Nouvelle Vague, before returning to John Coltrane? I want to be able to manipulate the blips into cohesive playlists!

I would love to have folders or sections to separate types of music in my playlist... not only for me, but anyone who might visit! =]
