Please list every concert you can remember going to in-person.
What was the 1st?
Which was the Best and Worst?

Do you feel that today's Ticket Prices make it so you can't go to a Concert In-Person?
Is it better to just buy the Live DVD and watch in the comfort of your home?

Comment Please. Here's my list.

Cheers :)

There's quite a few I hope to add this year, plus I'm likely to remember the odd show that I've somehow forgotten about.

My body has no concept of memory for dates and years

but I've seen Bob Dylan three times, the Allman Brothers Band twice, the Levon Helm Band, Phil Lesh and Friends, BB King, Tool twice, A Perfect Circle twice, 311, Eric Burdon of the Animals, Jack Bruce of Cream, Bad Company (for 'Hippie Fest' at Meadowbrook in NH), North Mississippi Allstars as openers

and I'm seeing the Derek Trucks Band this weekend and Johnny Winter on Valentine's Day. I think I missed a few. But I'm young, so really, I'm still building the list. Christ, I wasn't even born in 1986. I guess I lack perspective on the ticket thing because they've always been expensive as far as I'm concerned. I'd take Festival Express or the Last Waltz any day.

I love your taste in music, but please don't ever post things like "Christ, I wasn't even born in 1986." It makes me feel like an old hippie! :)

I won't even mention how old I am then :P

Anyway, just remembered one that isn't on my list:

2006: Belle and Sebastian (Munich, Germany)

I forgot INXS in Philly in 87 or 88.
Wow, you went to The Police in 1983, AWESOME. My friend went to one. That was their last year, and they got the Epic Promotion from their Record Company, Mtv, etc. They were HUGE in 83. And the 3 colors on the Album cover...cool.
You certainly have been to A TON of GREAT shows! You Rule! "We're not worthy. We're not worthy." [Wayne's World reference.]

2007 Four Tet (Explosions In The Sky support) - Brighton, Concord II
2007 The Secret Machines - Brighton, Concord II
2006 Latitude Festival, Suffolk
Mogwai (so very, very loud)
British Sea Power
The Guillemots
James Yorkstone
Archie Bronson Outfit
Paulo Nutini
Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly
Patti Smith
Mercury Rev
Antony and the Johnsons
Declan O'Rourke
2006 Adem - Brighton, The Hanbury Club

Can't remember when or where these were, but I've also seen:
Underworld
Deee-Lite
De La Soul (yes, again)
Prince (three times inc. Sing O the times tour - which was brilliant)
The Cult
AC/DC
Eddi Reader
James Brown

Lowlights include:
The Zutons (boring)
Snow Patrol (he couldn't sing and they kept missing notes)
Deee-Lite (the 2nd time I saw them)
Ghostface Killa (sexist, homophobic, racist, too offensive for my tastes)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (shame, but they couldn't play their instruments properly)
The Vines (so awful)
The Divine Comedy (a real shame, as it seemed Neil Hannon was having an off day - he just played and sang and stared at the floor the whole gig)
My sister singing the songs from Grease into a spoon while bouncing up and down on her bed (this does count as we were all forced to pay £1 each to watch this debacle)

Nov. 19, 2005: Deerhoof (Emo's, Austin, Texas)

Best: Deerhoof @ Emo's, Austin, Texas, 2005. Maybe it was because it was my first ever, but more likely, it was because of the little things. The drive to Austin, the indoor-outdoor venue, the crowd's energy - ZERO straight-faced crossed-arms hipsters hogging the front of the stage area - or turning around during an opening act to see Deerhoof standing behind me and fumbling out a request for a hug from Satomi, who gladly complied.

Worst: Voodoo Fest. Crowds freak me out - it's why I hadn't pulled off going to a concert until I was 24 years old. I thought I had things managed, but the volume of people and the distance from the stages - and the muddy venue, and the impenetrable wall of pot smoke about 200 yards around the main stages - just made me and my girlfriend nauseous, and the shows just weren't enjoyable. When my g/f passed out during Rage's set, we called it quits early and skipped the last day.

Notable: Matt & Kim, holy shit. Honorable mention for best show for sure. Pretty Girls Make Graves was my first and last mosh pit, lol. I brought my guitar to the Deerhoof show in Houston, where John Dietrich and Greg Saunier signed it, and again to the New Orleans show, where Satomi and Ed signed it.
